Honduras Cigar Factory
HISTORY
Since 1975, Mr. Víctor Madrid has been interested in tobacco, as it was a family heritage on his father’s side for four generations, originating in the fertile lands of Pinar del Río, Cuba. He learned everything about tobacco during his childhood in Miami, until he arrived in Danlí, Honduras, in 1985 to plant tobacco for the Canadian company Dos Ríos Cigar Factory. There, he specialized in planting, drying, and curing tobacco, while also being trained in aging and blending by legendary master cigar makers—especially his mentor and godfather, Mr. Rolando Reyes Sr., a first-generation Cuban master cigar maker established in Honduras.
Mr. Víctor Madrid has dedicated his entire life to the manufacture of hand-rolled cigars, as well as the aging and curing of tobacco leaves, building upon his extensive experience in producing high-quality tobacco. He has come full circle in his life’s work by creating tobacco with love for his children, his descendants, his family, and the legacy he leaves in the world of tobacco.
He produces export-quality aged cigars with wrapper leaves matured for many years, using his expertise as a tobacco blender to create exceptional blends. His cigars bear the names of his children and family members as a tribute to the love he has always had for both his family and the tobacco that has shaped his life.
